One of the local Tae Kwon Do studios offered a four week after school program as a fund raiser for the PTA. For $20, I figured it would be a fun thing for Carter to try out. And since the sign up form touted "respect" and "character building", I figured we'd be fools to let the opportunity slip by.
While I am doubtful that Carter learned anything too ground breaking, he really enjoyed his time in the class!
For the fourth and final class, they hosted a little "graduation" and invited the parents to come and watch.
The kids got to break boards, so Carter was thrilled.
It took several attempts, but he was successful and so proud of himself!
The teachers were really good and all of the children would say "yes sir". Lots of loud shouting and "kung fu", Carter was in heaven!
Getting his certificate at graduation
A fun little program and a great introduction to Tae Kwon Do
Unfortunately, it's a pretty big commitment, so it's not something we felt like we could keep up with. Since Carter enjoys so many sports, it would be hard to dedicate six months to one activity. But it was fun while it lasted!
